About Lydia

From the time I was a small child, I knew plants would be a big part of my life. I started taking care of my mother's plants at an early age and still to this day do a little landscaping for her every time I visit.

Growing up in the desert meant I could grow things year round, and I quickly fell in love with tropical plants. At age 18, I began working as an interior plantscape artist, taking care of large projects like The Courtyard By Marriott. After moving to Virginia, I started work at a small local nursery and ran their trees and shrubs department.

In 2013 I moved to the big orange box store and expertly managed the garden department. Hearing day after day, "Can you come to my house and look at my plants?" made me realize the time was right for me to pursue my true passion. And thus was born Dragon Tree Design. I am truly thrilled to bring my knowledge of interior and exterior plantscape design and my love of growing plants to you.
